A Message from Principal Ryan Enman:
Title I Parent Survey Icon

Built in 1919, Fairmount School is approaching 90 years of service to families on Bangor's west side.  Currently Fairmount houses approximately 275 students in grades four and five, offering a wide range of instructional programs and activities that address the needs of our students and build the academic skills necessary to transition meaningfully from elementary school to middle school.

The Fairmount School staff values the learning process and the family's role in promoting and supporting the education of their children; we encourage and initiate regular communication between home and school regarding the progress of our students. Our teachers have worked together in developing and implementing an instructional program that builds on the skills acquired at the primary level and asks students to obtain and apply information, to think critically, to communicate effectively, and to solve problems across the curriculum.  We also encourage students to participate in the many co-curricular activities before and after school to complement their classroom learning.

The prevailing educational climate of Fairmount School is positive, challenging and conducive to learning. It is our belief that the educational process should be a combined and continuing effort of the student, teacher, parent and the community.
