Are you considering going back to school to earn a post-secondary degree? The College Access for Everyone (CAFE) program can help you make the transition and provide you with the skills to succeed in college.

The CAFE program consists of classes in writing, mathematics, and computer technology. Classes are held on a college campus to help students become familiar with the college environment. College and career counseling and study skills are components of the program. The program is funded by a Maine College Transitions grant.

For more information and an application, please attend one of the following information sessions. Both sessions are at The Learning Center on 121 York Street in Bangor.

Welcome to the Bangor Adult & Community Education web site. ­We offer a variety of programs and services to the citizens of Bangor and the­ surrounding communities.

The fall class schedule is posted. Click on the menus above to view course descriptions. We have several new classes this fall.

Online registration is available for many classes. We also accept telephone registrations with a credit card (992-5523). Participants may register in person at the adult education office at Bangor High School. The office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

The Learning Center (941-6315) is open throughout the year. The staff at The Learning Center can assist people looking to get their G.E.D. or High School Diploma. We also have English as a Second Language classes available.

Learning Center Hours:

Tuesday and Wednesday 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Thursday 8:00 a.m. - noon

Online classes are now available

Bangor Adult & Community Education is partnering with the Learning Resources Network to offer online courses and certificate programs. Over 20 courses and five certificate programs are available. Click here for more information.

The Learning Center

The Learning Center is open throughout the summer (with the exception of the week of July 5th). We offer seven-week courses in GED preparation, reading, mathematics, and English as a Second Language. Please call 941-6315 for more information.
