Are you considering going back to school to earn a post-secondary degree? The College Access for Everyone (CAFE) program can help you make the transition and provide you with the skills to succeed in college.

The CAFE program consists of classes in writing, mathematics, and computer technology. Classes are held on a college campus to help students become familiar with the college environment. College and career counseling and study skills are components of the program. The program is funded by a Maine College Transitions grant.

For more information and an application, please attend one of the following information sessions. Both sessions are at The Learning Center on 121 York Street in Bangor.

Tuesday, August 17th at 9:00 a.m.

Thursday, August 19th at 3:00 p.m.

The Bangor Adult Learning Center is open throughout the year. Instruction is held in small groups, allowing students to work at their own pace and convenience. Students can enroll in the program at any time. All assessment and counseling services are provided at no cost. Adult Basic Education is free. The following programs are available:

Adult Basic Education                     

G.E.D. Testing & Preparation

English as a Second Language      

Directed Study Program

Career Counseling


HOURS OF OPERATION: 

The Bangor Adult Learning Center offers both day and evening hours. We are open Tuesday and Wednesday 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. G.E.D. testing is held on Thursday afternoons and all day Friday by appointment only.

Please stop by at any of the above times for your initial visit. We will work with you to design an educational plan that will help you meet your goals.
