Bangor Schools Food Services Program

Eat to Learn; Learn to EatMy Pyramid / USDA Food Pyramid Link

Bangor Schools Food Service Program is administered by a registered/licensed dietitian to offer Bangor students K-12 a variety of foods while considering dietary guidelines. School lunch foods are never deep fat fried! School lunch menus have been revised to lower fat, sugar and a fat content and low fat items are specified whenever feasible when purchasing from wholesalers. Every effort is made to develop school lunch menus that provide a fat content of 30% or less when averaged over a one-week period.

Each menu offers a minimum of:
2 servings of fruit/vegetable
1 serving of meat/meat alternate (i.e. cheese)
1 serving of bread/bread alternate (i.e. pasta)
1 serving of milk (skim, lowfat, or chocolate)

Students with medical dietary restrictions or allergies should present the food service supervisor at their school with a doctor's note. For further information about Bangor Schools Food Service program, contact the Food Services office at (207) 992-5532.
