General Information Regarding Meetings
The Committee meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month, except during school vacations, or as otherwise noted. Special meetings may be called as needed in addition to those scheduled below. All meetings are held at the City Hall Council Chambers at 7 p.m., unless otherwise announced.
The Bangor School Committee by policy, state law, and City charter are charged with the responsibility of setting policy and assuring that the School Department is well run. The School Committee does not manage the day-to-day operations of the School Department, nor do members become individually involved in addressing parent complaints or employee issues. School Committee members’ authority is confined to when they meet as a board of the whole in public session. Therefore, they do not weigh in on policy matters as individuals, but rather as a board in public session.
Any suggestions or concerns should be discussed/addressed with the teacher of the School Department employee directly involved. Then, if necessary, you should talk with the building principal. If there still are concerns after addressing them at the school level, please contact Superintendent Webb at 992-4153.

Unless personally addressed, emails are received by the Office of the Superintendent of Schools and distributed to all school committee members. Solicitations, defamatory comments or vulgar language will not be accepted.
