In the spirit of the giving season, the Bangor School Department has begun its annual food drive!

Each year, the school department holds a food drive and monetary fund drive to assist Bangor families in need. The drive will end on the last day before winter break, December 22nd. On this day, all students and staff are asked to wear cardinal red and white in celebration of our wonderful community.

We are collecting healthy, non-perishable foods including canned vegetables and fruit, canned meat and tuna, cereal, pasta, rice, peanut butter, and juice.

In addition to food donations, we will collect monetary donations to assist Bangor families in need with heating fuel.

To donate, please drop off non-perishable food donations at any school or the school department office in City Hall. Monetary donations in the form of a check should be made payable to the City of Bangor with a notation of “heating fuel.”
