Friday, June 7, two exhibits within walking distance of each other will feature artwork by Bangor High School visual arts students.
First, from 4:30-5:30 pm, the University of Maine Museum of Art will host the opening reception of the Spotlight Gallery exhibit of BHS student art work. The featured artists have undergone a juried selection process. The opening reception will feature an opportunity to hear from the student artists about their pieces. The UMMA is located at 40 Harlow Street. Opening Reception Poster (PDF).
After the reception, walk down to the lecture hall at the Bangor Public Library at 145 Harlow Street for an exhibit of Bangor High School’s VPA Academy Senior Capstone works. Student artists will be available to answer questions about their artwork. The library exhibit is open Friday from 5-8 pm.
If you’re unable to attend Friday evening, the artwork will be on display until the end of July.
