Bangor School Department Families and Community,
I am writing to you in response to the recent news regarding a confirmed case of COVID-19 in our local community.
The staff and faculty at the Bangor School Department remain committed to our mission to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our students to learn and our staff to work. I want to reassure you that the entire Bangor School Department will continue to follow CDC and Maine DOE protocols. All staff are being extra diligent in their work to ensure that safety protocols are followed. We will continue to monitor the situation, keep parents/guardians informed, and make any adjustments to our learning environment and school plans that are necessary. For more information about our COVID-19 Reopening Safety plan please visit https://tinyurl.com/yxcx2cqk.
I ask for continued cooperation from our school families to adhere to our protocols as well. Continue to wear face masks, wash your hands often, and practice healthy hygiene. Families are required to complete a self-check on their children before they come to school each day. If your child has any symptoms and/or is feeling unwell, please keep your child home from school and reach out to our school nurses. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s school. I appreciate your support and look forward to our continued work together as we navigate through this challenging time.
Sincerely,
Kathy Harris-Smedberg, Ph.D.
Assistant Superintendent
