Good morning, this is Kathy Harris-Smedberg, Interim Superintendent of the Bangor School Department. I have been notified that the Fruit Street School has at least one confirmed case of COVID-19. Fortunately, there are NO close contacts within the school, and students and staff are able to continue their normal learning pathways. I repeat, there are no close contacts.

Please continue to contact the administration or school nurse if you or your child test positive, wear your masks, maintain a safe physical distance, wash your hands often, and continue to practice healthy hygiene.

In these ever-changing times, my intent is to keep you well informed, hence why you have received so many calls from me. Additionally, the Bangor app, the Bangor School Department website, and the Bangor School Department Facebook and Twitter pages are communication tools you can refer to for up to date information. Finally, you can always reach out to your building administrator or your child’s teacher.
