Good evening. This is Kathy Harris-Smedberg, Interim Superintendent of the Bangor School Department. I have been notified of an additional confirmed case at Fruit Street School, with multiple people being identified as close contacts. Due to their exposure, all identified people will be in quarantine and will be encouraged to be tested.
If you or your child are identified as having been potentially exposed, you will receive an email this evening and, if needed, a Bangor nurse or representative will contact you. All close contacts will need to quarantine by staying at home. You will need to monitor for symptoms of cough, shortness of breath, or a temperature higher than 100.4°F, and practice physical distancing for 14 days from your last contact. If you are not contacted this evening, you do not need to start a quarantine routine and may return to school tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 4.
Please stay safe and be well.
Kathy Harris-Smedberg, Ph.D.
