A heartfelt thanks to the many people and organizations who graciously volunteered to transport their children to school Jan. 26-29. The outpouring of help and support further demonstrates what an amazing community Bangor is. Thank you!
Monday, January 25 will be a remote learning day. This allows for time needed to finalize plans and for buses to receive a deep cleaning.
Although I am hopeful that students will be able to return to in person learning on Tuesday, I want to be clear that, despite your generosity, remote days are still a possibility. Should additional drivers and monitors become ill or need to quarantine, I would probably move us to remote learning for the remainder of the week. My first priority will be the safety of students and staff. As Cyr Bus is still trying to determine if this alternate plan will work, I am unable to provide you with a clear plan this evening. I will let you know as soon as I can.
Wednesday, January 27 will be a half day of school. BHS will be dismissed at 11:00 a.m., JFDS and WSCS will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m., and all elementary schools will be dismissed at noon.
If you have further questions, please reach out to contacts at your child’s school.
Again, thank you so very much for the outpouring of support!
In community,
Kathy Harris-Smedberg, Ph.D.
Interim Superintendent Bangor School Department
