The Bangor School Department condemns all acts of anti-Asian racism/violence in our society. We stand in unity with our Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander faculty, staff, students and community members – we ask each and every member of our community to actively work to counter racism in all its forms. Acts of racism against any of us hurt all of us.
In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are concerned with the real and devastating implications of hateful anti-Asian speech in national and international discourse. The type of treatment towards Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islanders we are witnessing in the wake of the pandemic is a stark reminder that stereotypes often re-emerge in times of crisis, endangering the health and well-being of members of our community.
To report incidents of harassment or discrimination or to request support, contact your principal. To report incidents of hate or bias you may also use the Tip Line on the Bangor School Department App. Please know that we are here to support you. Support services are offered by school counselors, school nurses, school social workers, and other trained staff and teachers.
