Congratulations to Angela Domina, Bangor High School English teacher, who recently received the Krissy Miner Memorial Award. The University of Maine Educational Leadership Program acknowledged this year’s recipient on their website with the following quote.
“Angela is a passionate, reflective leader, who demonstrates a deep understanding of the necessary skills of educational leaders as evidenced in both her written work and oral communication. Angela leads with a keen sense of the necessary balance of empathy and strategy to best meet the needs of students, staff, and community members.”
The award is presented to an outstanding M.Ed. student in the Educational Leadership program at the University of Maine who has demonstrated an affinity for their own leadership development as an educator. The recipient understands the cognitive, interpersonal and intra-personal aspects of their own leadership development to better meet the needs of students, families and stakeholders in their community.
The award is named after Krissy Miner, a former teacher at Downeast Elementary School in the Bangor School Department, and M.Ed. Student at the University of Maine who passed away unexpectedly in August of 2019.
