For Families
Questions or needs related to student and family participation in any of the following events that celebrate the Class of 2024 can be directed to the Main Office by phone (992-5502) or E-mail (hhopkins@bangorschools.net). Any graduate or family needing financial assistance is encouraged to speak privately with an adult at BHS. Our commitment is for all students to participate fully in all events and activities.
BHS Senior Prom (Ticketed Event)

Cross Insurance Center
Prom tickets will go on sale outside the cafeteria in the weeks prior to the event. Students wishing to bring a guest must obtain a form from their Assistant Principal, who guides the student through the required steps and timeline. All guests must be formally approved to attend prom by administration. Note: Guests must be under the age of 21 to be considered for attendance.
Senior Scholarship and Awards Ceremony (Non-ticketed)

BHS Peakes Auditorium
A full ceremony that recognizes members of the senior class for their individual scholarship and achievements within and beyond the academic program. Families of honored students will be formally invited to the ceremony, which we anticipate to conclude by 8:ooPM.
Yearbook Distribution

The 2024 Oracle will be distributed to students throughout the school day. Specific instructions will be shared with students through Google Classroom and on daily announcements leading into the day of distribution. Families who are interested in purchasing a yearbook can contact Mr. Hutchins, Yearbook Advisor, at ehutchins@bangorschools.net.
Senior Meeting & Marching Practice

BHS Peakes Auditorium
The second of three meetings / rehearsals for Senior Salute and the full Graduation Ceremony. This is an important meeting and we will use time efficiently as we move seniors toward these special events that require coordination and planning. Seniors will report to their first period class for attendance before being called to the meeting by PA.
Senior Exams
May 31 - June 4 (June 5 Make-ups Only)
During Normally Scheduled Classes
Seniors must complete all academic requirements including any required final exams in order to participate in the graduation ceremony. Exams begin on May 31 (Mods 11-16 classes) and work backward through students' normal daily schedule, ending with exams on June 4 for the first three classes of their day.

Senior Banquet (Non-Ticketed, Free Event)

BHS Campus
This free event is for senior students only and it takes place on campus. Seniors come together to celebrate their graduation with a meal, words from members of the class, fun activities, and a culminating slide show that features pictures from the four years of the Class of 2024. We would like every senior to contribute at least one picture, which can be sent by email to Eric Hutchins ehutchins@bangorschools.net. All seniors are encouraged to attend.
Mandatory Graduation Rehearsal
June 6th 8:00AM
Event Starts at BHS
Seniors are asked to arrive at BHS by bus or their own transportation by 8AM and then drive themselves or be bused to the Cross Center for final graduation ceremony preparations. The practice will end by 11:30AM. Students MUST attend this mandatory rehearsal.
Senior Salute (Non-Ticketed Event)

BHS Peakes Auditorium
Senior Salute is a short but meaningful event that has the feel of a “mini graduation” – and is a good opportunity for loved ones who might not wish to attend the full ceremony on June 9th to celebrate the graduates. Families are invited to attend to capacity. The students proceed formally into Peakes Auditorium wearing their Caps and Gowns, where they will reflect on their time at BHS and hear from a student speaker. There is a reception following the ceremony with many photo opportunities.
The Alma Mater March (Non-Ticketed, Registration Required Online)
June 7th / BHS Campus
Departure from BHS: TBA
This is a wonderful event where our seniors travel by bus in their caps and gowns to Bangor’s K-8 buildings to revisit the schools that many of them attended– and to march through the halls to be celebrated by the teachers and students. Students must sign up online through a link to be provided in Google Classroom. Space is limited, and students must take the bus on their selected route (no personal vehicles).
Graduation Ceremony (Ticketed Event)

Students arrange their own transportation to the Cross Insurance Center with an expected arrival no later than 3:15PM
Important Notes on Graduation:
Caps and gowns are required for the Graduation Ceremony. The cost is $28.00.
Families can pay by cash or check in the front office or pay online at the Bangor High School website.
A ticket is required for each attendee, are not limited / capped, and will be given directly to students.
Ceremony tickets will be provided only to members of the class. No other individuals will be given tickets.
No drinks are allowed in the Cross Arena. Please make sure they/you do not bring beverages to the ceremony.
Graduates need to wear appropriate dress and shoes for the long walk to their seats and for crossing the stage.
BHS regalia (caps, gowns, stole, tassel) must be worn. Additional items must be approved by administration.
Honor cords and pins from organizations with an academic or co-curricular connection can augment the regalia.
A professional photographer will be covering the ceremony. Please do not approach the stage area during the ceremony.

Project Graduation (Registration Required; Free Event)
June 9th 8:ooPM - 4:00AM (Overnight Event)
Bangor High School
Project Graduation is a free event for members of the class only. Students must pre-register for Project Graduation and submit all paperwork through Project Graduation 2024, the parent group that sponsors, plans, and oversees the evening in formal cooperation with the school. Food, entertainment, prizes, and the fun of a final reconnection among members of the outstanding Class of 2024. Don't miss the fun!
