This weekend, the Bangor High School Speech and Debate teams hosted the Paul Bunyan Classic Speech and Debate Tournament. Students pose with their certificates and metals.

This weekend, the Bangor High School Speech and Debate teams hosted the Paul Bunyan Classic Speech and Debate Tournament.

The following students won their events:

In the Lincoln-Douglas Novice Debate, Larkin Speed won first place.

In the Lincoln-Douglas Varsity Debate, Bangor swept the category, with Nolan Baumgartner taking third place, Brayden Sloan earning second place, and Beatrix Foster winning first place.

In Varsity Public Forum, the Bangor Debate team again dominated the category, with Sophia Brozman and Emmanuelle Karsh receiving third place, Sophie Hall and Gabby Curtis securing second place, and Anca Soare and Ava Rigler winning first place.

In Speech events, the following students won:

In Duo Interpretation, Tobias Kennedy and Sara Wallace received second place.

In Original Oratory, Mathea Oguan earned second place.

In Program Oral Interpretation, Abigail Singletary received third place, while Sara Wallace secured second place.

In Dramatic Interpretation Lara Markovitch won first place

In Novice Poetry Reading, Bangor’s speech team swept the category, with Alexandra Turnick receiving third place, Chloe Sarnicki earning second place, and Madyson Hall winning first place.

The Bangor speech team also dominated in Novice Prose Reading, with Alexandria Turnich receiving third place, Madyson Hall earning second place, and Chloe Sarnicki winning first place.

Overall, both the Bangor Debate Team and the Bangor Speech Team finished in first place
