First semester exams take place January 20–23 and serve as an important academic checkpoint for all Bangor High School students. Exams allow students to demonstrate their learning from the first half of the semester and play a meaningful role in overall course grades.
Students will take no more than two exams per day, scheduled during morning sessions and aligned with their regular class schedules. When students do not have an exam scheduled during a session, they are not required to attend school. That said, our experience is that students who arrive on campus and follow a normal 8:00 a.m. routine—using quiet study time to prepare or reset—often feel more focused and perform better on their exams.
January 20 (Tuesday): Mod 1-2 and Mod 3-4 Course Exams
January 21 (Wednesday): Mod 5-6 and Mod 7-8 Course Exams.
January 22 (Thursday): Mod 9-10 and Mod 11-12 Course Exams
January 23 (Friday): Mod 13-14 and Mod 15-16 Course Exams
Quiet study spaces and lunch will be available each day, and students may remain on campus for supervised study time if helpful. Normal bus routes will depart BHS at 11:35 a.m., and a late bus will depart at 2:00 p.m.
Midterm week is an opportunity for students to pause, reflect, and show what they know as they head into the second half of the year. Families with questions are encouraged to contact the BHS Guidance Office @ 992-5516.

The Bangor Authors’ Fair is returning for its fourth year at the Bangor Public Library on December 13th, 2025. It’s the largest event of its kind in Maine, with over 90 authors and six publishers attending.
There will be various panels throughout the day, representing a wide variety of genres. The fair is organized by the Bangor Authors’ Collaborative, founded by Christopher Packard, an author and science teacher at Bangor High.
RamPage decided to ask him some questions so students could learn about the Bangor Authors’ Fair.
Q: Are there any challenges that come with setting up the Bangor Authors’ Fair, and are there any differences from previous years?
A: This year I have a lot of help from other authors. I’ve formed a group. It's always nice to have help but to have that help you have to communicate all the things you know, which is a challenge. It’s a lot of work put together for an event that large, hundreds of hours. If you’re organizing events you’re not writing, time and brainpower being spent on something other than your passion, the reason I started doing the author’s fair.
