In all of the Bangor School Department’s schools and programs, we seek to provide all students with a quality education and prepare them to succeed as citizens of a global community. To achieve this goal, we want to ensure that our practices adapt to and resonate with the ever-evolving students and families that we serve for international, naturalized and American members of our community. This event will feature leading advocates, experts and educators to explore how our schools and the greater community can best support immigrants and refugees who have made Maine home. Attendees will hear from the panel, have the opportunity to ask questions, and socialize at the end of the event.

SUN Bucks provide a $120 EBT benefit for each child who qualifies to spend on groceries while school is out. Most eligible kids will be automatically enrolled in the program and don’t have to apply. The Doughty "A" team Baseball and "A" team Softball games scheduled at Hermon today have been canceled due to field conditions. Both baseball and softball will have practice today after school from 2:30-4:00 at Doughty.

PCHC will be offering School Based Health Clinic summer hours on Wednesdays and Thursdays at Old Town Elementary School 7 AM to 3 PM.

Holocaust Remembrance Day/Yom Hashoah April 24, 2025, the internationally recognized date for Holocaust Remembrance Day corresponds to the 27th day of Nisan on the Hebrew calendar. It marks the anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. In Hebrew, Holocaust Remembrance Day is called Yom Hashoah. As we remember the six million people who were murdered, honor the survivors, pay tribute to the rescuers, and celebrate the liberators, we are reminded of the power of their history to inspire people everywhere to confront all forms of group-targeted hate and genocide.

The Bangor School Department will be closed in observation of Patriot’s Day. Patriot's Day, formalized as a legal holiday in Maine in 1907, commemorates the battles of Lexington, Concord, and Menotomy, which were some of the first battles of the American Revolutionary War. The holiday occurs on the third Monday of April each year, with celebrations including battle reenactments and the Boston Marathon. At the time of the Revolutionary War, Maine was a part of Massachusetts and was actively involved in these battles.

Spring Break is scheduled for April 21 to April 25. Students will return to classes on Monday, April 28.
